Urinary Tract Infection Causes

Urinary tract infections are caused by bacteria overgrowth in your urinary tract. This can be anywhere from the urethra (urine exit), the bladder, to higher up in your kidneys. Because the urethra is closer to the bladder and anus in females, urinary tract infection are more common in females. Bacteria often reach the urinary tract system from the bum while wiping away stool, or transfer during sex.

Urinary Tract Infection Symptoms

* Burning when you pee.
* Frequent urination due to irritation of your bladder.
* Feeling you must go right away when you feel an urge to pee.
* Foul odor or cloudy pee.
* Pain in your sides suggests and infection that has reached your kidneys i.e.
pyelonephritis - this is the most serious form of urinary tract infection
symptoms.

Urinary Infection Treatment

* Drink more water. This treatment helps flush out the annoying bacteria.
* Urinary antibiotics. These tablets for 3 to 7 days kill bacteria just like
    they would for a strep throat or any other bacterial infection.
* A glass of cranberry juice each day has been found in studies to reduce
   urinary tract infection frequency by making the urinary tract difficult for
   bacteria to stick to.
